Almadrask[1]. was the builder, attendant, and owner of Almadrask's Lighthouse, loated near Faeyalot. Following his wife Seelia leaving him, he jumped from its top and cursed the ships of Faeyalot.

History

Unusual for a dwarf (and much to the chagrin of his clan), Almadrask had a strong affinity for the sea. Brave and courageous, he became a quite successful sailor and ship's captain, even slaying the pirate lord Garim the Dread. Such heroics earned the approval even of his previously shamed clan. However, a particularly nasty storm left him crippled and unable to work as a sailor. Though made terribly bitter by the loss of his livelihood, Almadrask's wealth enabled him a lucrative career as a merchant. He eventually settled down and operated his lighthouse, even going so far as to marry Seelia, a barmaid purportedly only after Almadrask's vast wealth.

After Almadrask heard word of Seelia cheating on him, he threatened to cut her of his money should she dally again. At this threat, Seelie left Almadrask forever to go to sea with her roguish lover. Almadrask leapt to his death from his lighthouse and levied a curse upon the ships passing through Faeyalot. Many of the ships began to sink in mysterious circumstances.

Alamdrask's story is one told by his clan to warn their children away from embracing the seas and oceans.
