Argynvost

Argynvost is an NPC from the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. Now merely a spirit, Argynvost was a silver dragon in life that settled in the valley of Barovia in order to keep the evil of The Amber Temple sealed inside. Argynvost adopted thee guise of Lord Argynvost, a human noble, and established the Order of the Silver Dragon at his stronghold, Argynvostholt. However, Strahd eventually chased his foes into the valley, and Argynvost and the Order became involved in the conflict. Eventually they were overwhelmed by Strahd's forces. Argynvost was slain in his mansion, his body hacked to pieces, and his head taken back to Castle Ravenloft by Strahd.

Though slain, Argynvost's spirit lingers on, after a fashion. If his skull can be brought to his mausoleum at the ruins of Argynvost and sealed within (Q16), his spirit shines on the tower's top (Q53), the Beacon of Argynvost, to lay all the restless undead revenants to rest. The beacon can be seen from many locations within Barovia Argynvost's skull is presently located in the Hall of Boens (Area K67) of Castle Ravenloft.
