Bethany Jamieson is the creator of The Chaperone. Despite being the creator of a dread golem, Bethany is otherwise just a teenage peasant girl.

Bethany Jamieson was the daughter of Sarah Jamieson and the sister of Roland Jamieson. After they passed on, Bethany lived alone on her farm as a social outcast in her own village. However, Maude Bothel offered to allow Bethany to stay with the Bothel family, but Bethany refused several offers over the course of some time. Arthur Bothel, Maude's son, eventually fell in love with her and attempted to woo her. A marriage was seen in the cards by Maude and Bothel.
After the tomcat that was one of the few things Bethany had for company perished, Bethany created a dread golem from some of its body parts and other patchwork material. She named the creature "Amber" after its button eyes. Although the Chaperone started out as innocent and protective, it soon became corrupted and malicious, killing Arthur as a threat to its relationship with Bethany. The Chaperone is starved for attention, which it sees Bethany as the only provider. As with most dread golems, it will one day turn on its creator.
