Blackroot is an evil, powerful treant that rules over the Brujamonte ("Witch's Wood") in Tepest.

Background

Blackroot did not initially exist as a treant. His life began as a majestic, noble tree that towered over the rest of the woods and a place where druids came to worship. When he was drawn into the Land of Mists, the Three Hags who ruled over Tepest saw the tree for what is was and performed vile rituals on it for a month. When the hags completed their job, Blackroot became a horrible and powerful force of evil in the Witch's Wood.

Current Sketch

Blackroot still defers to the hags out of fear and respect for their power, but wishes he was the darklord of Tepest. He generally consumes any goblin that comes close (of which there are plenty) but at least once a month he desires human flesh.

Blackroot has a profound fear of fire. He will not tolerate it anywhere near his person. Should anyone bring Blackroot down, the hags will immediately know of it.
