Castle Stonecrest is a modest, rectangular castle with four tower and two floors. It resides in the island domain of Staunton Bluffs, and it is the lair of the darklord and ghost, Sir Torrence Bleysmith. It lies at the top of a hill on the eastern side of the domain, and is avoided by the people of the land.

Features

Castle Stonecrest was constructed from bedrock quarried in the nearby hills. It sports a two-trench (now empty) moat, and a unique drawbridge design that is longer than the main entrance is tall, necessitating an area underneath the main floor where it is pulled into, creating a possible deadly hazard for adventurers. The layout and design of the castle is fairly typical, with parlors, barracks, an armory, a kitchen area, bedrooms, and the like.

At one time it was an impressive abode for Count Rupert Bleysmith, but now it's merely a looted shell of what it used to be -- but treasure and useful items still exist for the intrepid adventurer. It is generally safe to explore during the day, but at night it is a deathtrap.

Residents

The only residents are the ghost Sir Torrence Bleysmith and the undead he created. The undead are a mix of minor walking dead, including ghouls, ghasts, and skeletons. The undead residents are always active, while Sir Torrence Bleysmith can only appear (and attack) at night.

One peculiar area of the castle is the dining room. It is guarded by six powerful spectres, and unlike the rest of the castle it is pristine and untouched, with a fully set table awaiting dinner. The spectres will only attack if the dining room table and its contents are molested, otherwise they are entirely harmless and can even be communicated with via a speak with dead spell -- the spectres are quite knowledgeable on Bleysmith and his history, and even how to defeat him. The room is also the one place in the castle where Bleysmith cannot tread, making it a perfectly safe spot in case the adventurers need a rest.
