The Brotherhood of the Salamander is a secret society of lycanthropes (most weresnakes) in Nueva Aragona (chiefly Maconda) that serve as the enforcers and secret police for General Martin José Maconda, although their open mission statement is to root out royalist and elitist enemies of the Republic.[1]
