Guardian yugoloths are yugoloths that serve as guardians for mortal fiend summoners when conjured to the Material Plane or Ravenloft. Such summoning is highly dangerous in that such yugoloths may not agree to demands from their summoners and even turn on them^[1].

Guardian yugoloths exist in three varieties governing power and the amount of treasure they guard: Least, Lesser, and Greater. Although least and lesser yugoloths can vary in appearance, greater guardian yugoloths appear as upright standing, ram-horned, winged bears of looming size and stature with eagle talons for hands^[1].

In terms of special abilities, all guardian yugoloths can breathe fire and can communicate in every language. They all hold immunity to sleep, charm, and hold spells. Lesser and Greater guardian yugoloths are impervious to normal weapons and weaker magic weapons. Guardian yugoloths often possess other immunities as well^[1].

History

A greater guardian yugoloth was employed by Azalin Rex during the events of the Grand Conjunction^[2].
