Also known as Ghosts of Obsession or song snatchers, Lhiannan shee are malevolent spirits that feed upon bards. A Lhiannan shee's kisses drain away the bard's music, songs and stories, their creative essence and eventually even their spark of life. Like a succubus, they are shapechangers, able to take the form of forms that are attractive and appealing to their victims, such as those of lost loves. Once a bard becomes entranced by a Lhiannan shee, the unfortunate victim willingly surrenders their essence and life.[1]

Fortunately, Lhiannan shee are rare in the extreme. Larson only encountered one or two during his years of hunting them in Faerun and only one in Kartakass (though he suspected they might be more common in the Demiplane of Dread than on Toril). A person properly trained can drain the stolen essence from a song snatcher and either give it back to the original victim or keep it for himself.[2]

A Lhianna shee appeared in the short story Tales of Ravenloft: Song Snatcher and in the 2nd Edition Forgotten Realms Monstrous Compendium Appendix II.
