The Red Death's Underlings are a step above the Red Death's Mites in that they are usually intelligent and can be formidable on their own. However, they voluntarily serve the interests and goals of the Red Death's Demilords and the Red Death's Lords. Note that service, not power rank, defines the role of the Underling, as some powerful Underlings will outstrip less powerful demilords in capability. Dracula's vampire wives would be an example of the Underling category of minions.[1][2]
