Elixir of Longevity

The Elixir of Longevity is a potion capable of halting and, if brewed correctly, reversing the ageing process in a living creature.

To date, two variants of the Elixir are known to exist, created independently by the mad wizard Traven and the red widow Richelle de Mauvais.

Both versions of the potion require a substantial amount of humanoid blood. This blood must be drawn from at least a dozen people who have been tainted with the blood of a Nosferatu; this volume provides enough raw material for one dose of the potion. Both Traven and Richelle preyed on the Kargatane of Martira Bay to create their respective versions of the formula.

  • Traven's version effectively halts the ageing process for six months. It does not undo the ravages of time, but it can be rendered into a powder that can be stored almost indefinitely. This powder, if mixed and imbibed with wine, water or fresh blood, has the same effect as the fresh elixir.
  • Richelle's version includes Red Widow venom as an ingredient. It can not be rendered into powder form and congeals into useless sludge within an hour of brewing unless imbibed. If imbibed while still fresh, however, it halts the ageing effect for a month and reverses the body's physical age by one category.

Apart from the blood, the Elixir requires several costly ingredients and a laboratory dedicated to the study of alchemy.

Both versions of the potion, if willingly and knowingly imbibed, provoke a Powers Check.
