Minor character from King of the Dead. Cousin to Lady Karawinn, cousin-in-law to Lord Karawinn. Former baron of Il Aluk, wished to destroy Darcalus Rex and take control over Darkon, was one of the few who had access to him. In 579 BC, he along with the Karawinns conspired to poison Darcalus Rex, then master of Darkon. Acting on behalf of her husband, Lady Karawinn hired Balitor and Oldar Wahldrun to steal some water from a river near Castle Avernus. The duo was told it was magical water that granted youthfulness, though it was really a terrible poison. Oldar and Balitor ran into some zombies in the field but were rescued by a partially amnesiac Firan Zal'honan. Firan detected the poison and returned with his two benefactors to the Karawinn estate. Lady Karawinn gave offered them (poisoned) wine while she fetched their rewards. However, Firan exposed the ruse and called out Lord Karawinn, whom demurely came out and at first apologized profusely, thinking Firan was Darcalus. However, once Firan convinced Lord Karawinn he intended to see Darcalus' death for the murder of his son Irik Zal'honan (Son).[1]

At Firan's behest, Lord Karawinn arranged a meeting with Aldewaine, and they reluctantly conspired with Firan to smuggle him into Castle Avernus to deal with Darcalus personally. The nobles along with Firan, Oldar, and Balitor attended a baronial ball, whereupon Firan brought doom upon Darcalus. However, in doing so, Firan realized he and Darcalus were the same person, Azalin Rex, separated by whim of the Dark Powers. Upon regaining his memory, Azalin Rex took over lordship and brought his wrath down upon the three conspirators, for, in his view, had they never conspired to overthrow Darcalus, Azalin-Firan would never have become darklord of Darkon. Azalin took control of their bodies and made them sip fatal poisons, which caused them to die hideously. He then reanimated them to serve him as undead slaves. The baron's land and position was given over to Balitor.[2]
