Madeline Galbraith grew up with the ability to see ghosts but not hear them. This instilled in her an interest in history. Unfortunately, she found little coherence in the study of history at the Academe d'Richemulot. Leaving it, she studied with antiquarians and dabbled in the occult, but found little else there that might help her speak with the dead. Eventually she purchased a magical medallion from an occult shop in Chateaufaux that allowed her the ability to communicate with the undead. Since then, Galbraith has spoken with (and laid to rest) many ghosts and has used the knowledge gained thereby to write many a historical book, vitalizing the field like never before. She has also gone on explorations of lands throughout the Core and beyond, becoming an archaeologist as well as a historian.[2]
Madeline carries a special magical dagger that was given to her by the merchant who sold her the medallion.[3]
