In the Date with a Darklord dread possibility, Mardu the Bronze is a dread doppelganger that represents the corrupt and decadent Henri DuBois met by Jacqueline Renier. Mardu's shapechanging represents Henri's seeming disappearance, and the doppelganger fled because its inability to contract lycanthropy would give away its true nature. However, the intrigue-addled Mardu has settled on Henri as its "imago" (favored guise) and has thus made efforts to start again elsewhere as Henri, only to be sought by Jackie. Hence, Mardu has been making efforts to learn techniques to feign being a wererat.[1]
