The guillotine of Morcastle the Magician was equipped with a trick mechanism that allowed Morcastle to seemingly be guillotined in his performances without really coming to harm. After Morcastle investigated the murders in Carnival l'Morai, someone sabotaged the guillotine such that Morcastle was decapitated during one of his performances.[1]
