Nikolai and Karl Wachter (Curse of Strahd)

Nikolai and Karl Wachter are NPCs from the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. They are the delinquent and drunkard sons of Lady Fiona Wachter and the late Lord Nikolai Wachter and both reside in Wachterhaus in Vallaki. Although they are troublemakers, they share neither their mother's cruelty nor her schemes to usurp Baron Vargas Vallakovich. They simply do their best to stay out of their demeaning mother's eye during the day (but come home intoxicated at night.) Nikolai and Karl are known to frequent the Blue Water Inn.

In Curse of Strahd

In CoS, Nikolai and Karl may rile up Rictavio's saber-toothed tiger, causing it to break its bonds and wander Vallaki, though they remain unhurt. Ultimately, if the player characters don't intervene, it is killed by the local guard, and Rictavio is blamed.
