The origin of the Vistani concept in Ravenloft is discussed in a sidebar, but the vistani described in the article are reinvented as a plane-hopping culture formed of adopted members of all races. The possibility is left open for more traditional vistani on certain worlds, at the DM's choosing.

Also, the "all-powerful, all-knowing" nature of the vistani is reserved for select powerful members. This allows the average PC to be a full vistani without access to game-breaking powers.
