Rega

Rega leads the Inquisition of the Church of Zhakata as the Scourge of the Temple. As a supposed double agent he organised the conspiracy known as the Circle of Darkness. In truth this was done in the service not of Yagno Petrovna but rather of his own cause. He seeks to remove his leader and rule the land. He is aware of the falsity at the heart of the Church of Zhakata, and consequently he worships not Zhakata but rather the religious trappings and tenets from which power is distilled.

To further his schemes, Rega assumes the innocuous guise of Madar, a dissident who has joined the Circle of Darkness. Rega is known to the people of the Mongrelman Camp as "Malar" (not to be confused with the deity Malar).
