Sir Trevor Godwyn was the first of the Godwyn Family to rule Vultharesk. He ruled with an iron fist and an ultra-puritanical code that punished any crimes (even minor infractions like theft or adultery) with death. After 10 years of this rule, Lord Godwyn broke his own code by falling in love with one of the native commoners named Olyana Volienska. She went along with his requests even though she too was married because of the fear she held of him and the hope it would mean the betterment of kindred. However, her husband discovered the adultery but not with whom. When he brought her before Lord Godwyn, he was spooked but showed no regret in betraying her and ordering her execution without letting on that he was the other guilty party.[1]

However, Olyana's death would not sit so quietly on Lord Godwyn's conscience. He found her peering back from every reflection he gazed into. This eventually drove him mad. He ordered the execution of all of Olyana's extended family for "conspiracy"but not no avail in getting rid of the images of her that plagued him. As the Mists surrounded the town, he beat his own wife's head into the mirror to make her see. But with her death, Olyana stepped out and dragged him kicking and screaming into the mirror. Since then, he has been The Mirror Man and darklord of Vultharesk.[2]

The Mirror is trapped in a dim, hazy reflection of the true Vultharesk. He can only enter enter "the real world" to punish somebody who has sinned (from his perspective) in front of a mirror. His touch has the ability to transport transgressors into his mirror domain.[3]
