Category:Swarm
A swarm is corporeal and animate. It consists of creatures that are corporeal and animate. But that can be living, undead, or animate things. A swarm is not alive, is not dead, and is not undead. A swarm is destroyed or broken up.
A swarm is a monster consisting of many creatures of the same sort that together form a whole. This whole then functions as more that the sum of its parts. Swarms to tend to be difficult to destroy with bludgeoning, piercing or stabbing weapons. In some cases enough members of the swarm may be killed in this way to eventually disperse it, although perhaps not before affording it time to do very considerable damage. Avoiding or fleeing a swarm is often the best course. Attacks that make use of fire, smoke or wind can be extremely effective against certain types of swarms.
