Dawning in the 17th century, the Enlightenment was an epoch of Western history where it was thought that the evils of the world could be overcome by replacing superstition and false beliefs with reason, truth, and intellectual though. On Gothic Earth, the Enlightenment's development was largely influence by the actions of three qabals (the Alliance, the Society of Keepers, and the Sisterhood). These three qabals eventually united into a larger qabal simply known as the Enlightened. Their efforts would shape the world of humanity for centuries to come.[1]
