The Well of Bones is a network of catacombs and tunnels located underneath the Radiant Tower in Lekar. The original Radiant Tower and the Well of Bones were both created by the Czega Family on the Material Plane to house their experiments into ritual necromancy. As the rituals of the Czegas turned increasingly towards the dark and evil, they moved more of their work into the Well of Bones. However, the Mists eventually took away both the Tower and the Well from the Czegas and relocated the structures to the southern slums of Lekar.[1]
Among their accomplishments, the Czega family used clockmaking technology to build a gigantic pendulum inside of the Well of Bones that could drain the youth out of sacrificial victims and use it to power the various horrible enchantments worked inside the catacombs and the tower.[2]
Following the ousting of the Ebon Fold from Lekar, the Falkovnian military destroyed the Radiant Tower and rebuilt it, assuming control of the premises.[3] It is not mentioned what happened to the Well of Bones, which was the actual lair of the Ebon Fold.[4]
The Well of Bones was also (at least formerly) home to a colony of jermlaine.[5]
