Xanthos Kastigir

Xanthos Kastigir is the darklord of Nedragonne. Originally from Krynn, Xanthos is a half-sea elf, the product of pirate Captain Waylon Kastigir's rape upon Xzorsha Syldebar, a Dargonesti sea elf. Xzorsha managed to escape and lovingly reared Xanthos as if he were a full-blooded sea elf. However, he was made into a ridiculed and despised outcast among his peers because of his distinctive appearance and half-human blood. Xanthos learned to hate his tormentors in return, but his bonding with the dolphins, and his unexpected ability to transform into one, helped conceal his rage. Eventually his prowess with the dolphins impressed his former tormentors, and they began to call him friend. Hiding the wrathful feelings he held towards them, he reciprocated their friendship if only at a surface level.

Xanthos showed dutiful service in advancing the interests of the community, such that he became a ranger and eventually led scouting expeditions and forays against the enemies of his people. Het met and wed Aeowyn Caladorn, and he eventually managed to begin moving past the hatred he'd buried for so long. However, an attack of sea wolves and sahuagin sealed his fate. Xanthos was badly wounded and infected with the lycanthropic scourge of the sea wolf. Xanthos tried to resist but ultimately gave into the dread disease, remembering all the torment he received as a child. Xanthos survived the ordeal, seemingly unscathed.

However, his seemingly miraculous survival of the incident opened him up to inquiry for his lycanthropy. His affliction was discovered, and he was to be exiled for the taint in his blood. Feeling abandoned and betrayed, he went on a rampage and murdered many of those in his community, including his wife and mother. As he retreated to the surface, he discovered a new land where he was seemingly the master, Nedragonne.

Xanthos lives as a loner on the fringe of Tenebria. Although he has sired several children, he has banished them from his presence because they are all sea wolves. He is doubly cursed: to forever be forsaken by the dolphins he formerly loved and to never enjoy the waters of the sea in his half-elf or dolphin form. (Whenever he touches the water when not in sea wolf form, he starts drowning.)

Xanthos has been given considerable power beyond even that of a greater sea wolf. His bite acts as a sword of sharpness. He regenerates 3 hit points per round. He can even summon ghosts to fight on his behalf.
