Ravenloft Using COC D20 Rules
After coming to the sad conclusion I will never be able to do Ravenloft using 4ed rules I have decided to use Call Of Cthulhu d20 rules.
Character creation is just standard COC 1890s rules with the following -
Humans no attribute bonuses
Elves, -2 CON +2 DEX +2 CHA
Dwarves -2 CHA +2 CON +2 WIS
Halfling -2 STR +2 DEX +2 WIS
Gnomes -2 STR +2 INT +2 WIS
Half Elf no adjustment
Classes
Fighter +2 STR +2 CON
Rogue/Bard +2 DEX +2 CHA
Wizard +2 INT +1 WIS +1 CHA
Priest +2 WIS +1 INT +1 CHA
This is just the beginning. What do you think?

No to toot my own horn, but have you seen my Masque of the Red Death reworked for 3.5?
It sounds like you might like it. (But I don't know COC D20, so I might be wrong.)

Masque of the Red Death is ready-to-go for more advanced domains (Dementlieu, Mordent etc.). It uses standard 3.x rules, so you have no offnesive/defensive sets (are they from d20 modern?) but it's not a problem.
Out of curiousity, why CoC d20, not simply D&D 3,5?

I find the way COC runs a lot more fitting for the style and tone of Ravenloft then any edition of D&D.
Fear, insanity, and curses come into play a lot.
Magic is usually evil.
Good priests/clerics don't or rarely use magic.
You can't solve problems by shooting them.
COC and Ravenloft have all these things in common.

In the Library section of this site.
Under Netbooks:
Gothic Earth classes by Patrick Plouffe.
Even without the MotRD book, you should make sense of 90% of the stuff...

Damn you Yu made a point! I always thought of much more ordinary, down to earth RL campaig and ith those rules, as you present them, it could be!Lovecraftforever wrote:The offense/defense option is from COC.Paladyn wrote:Masque of the Red Death is ready-to-go for more advanced domains (Dementlieu, Mordent etc.). Wilderness Lore

Spellcraft
+3 players choice
Witches are always female and fall into three categories. White, green, and black. This reflects the three goddesses the witches worship and the age of the witch. Witches are born seemingly at random among all races. Witches are born with a birthmark identifying them as a witch. In some cultures these infants are abandoned in the woods, seemingly to die. However these infants are often rescued by forest animals who either take the child to the nearest coven or raise the child themselves. Some prefer a solitary existence in the wild, but most gather together in covens. In the past witches were hunted down and burned alive by ignorant men who were jealous of the knowledge and power they can wield. So witches usually keep their existence secret. All mortal offspring of witches are female. However, male children are sometimes born as the result of relations with gods, devils, demons, angels, and other magical creatures. A witches son is fiercely loyal to his mother and her coven and often has strange nearly God like abilities. Although reviled by some, most settlements keep a few witches around for their healing skills and as midwives. Witches possess the ability to communicate with most animals and often have animal allies. Natural animals never attack witches unless attacked first.
The witch gods-
Mollen- White, the maiden.
Roslyn- Green, the mother.
Hagoth- Black, the crone.
Wyrug- The male. The son, lover, and father in one.
