Aurelia

In life an elf herbalist and enchanter, Aurelia is a banshee that haunts the area surrounding the Wailing Stone in the hills of Craven Cove. She knows when anyone perishes in the town of Widow's Peak, for she was once its first matriarch. The Wailing Stone has a reputation for letting out a horrid wail whenever somebody dies, but this is in truth Aurelia, for she mourns every death thanks to her connection with the town and the inability for anyone there to procreate and make new life.

Aurelia is well-versed in the history of Widow's Peak, though she has picked up a bit of madness. Her distant descendant, the Sea Witch, was burned at the stake by Widow's Peak's people, and in return the Sea Witch cursed the land and its people to be infertile until the sea claims them all. Aurelia grieves for the unborn children her descendant robbed the people of, and in her madness, the banshee thinks the Sea Witch still lives and can be destroyed to remove her curse. Although not hostile to the living whom encounter her, Aurelia's incoherent nature can make itself known.

As the ancestor of the Sea Witch, Aurelia is also the distant ancestor of Amelia Hawthorne.
