Cyclical Decay

Cyclical Decay is a thesis by Dolor Merryweather, written for the eyes of the Fathers of the Fraternity of Shadows only. Summarized, the text described the cycle of rise and decay of civilizations, and posits the theory that in the Demiplane of Dread this cycle might occur with unnatural regularity, leading to the loss of critical knowledge. Dolor used Cyclical Decay to persuade the Fathers of the Fraternity to fund the construction of a secret storage facility for the Fraternity's most treasured lore, where it could be kept safe in relative isolation.
