A deity of song[1] originally from Faerun, Milil is worshiped by the Church of Milil. Like Malar, he is worshiped is in Aferdale.[2] He also has some following in Harmonia, Kartakass. Under the rule of Casimir, the Church of Milil was state religion[3]

Although Kartakass is known as the [Land of Song]], Milil has had surprisingly little following. In general, most Kartakans do not dedicate themselves to any religion or deity whatsoever.[4] In the Heart of Midnight novel, the character Gustav, former high priest of Milil, stated that Milil had abandoned Kartakass because there the people had reduced song and music to weapons of harm and murder.[1]

Milil's faith is active in Aferdale, where his temple has severalpriests. At least one of them, Abane their leader, is a divine spellcaster. The clergy of Milil are at odds with the clergy of the false god Weeshy.[5]

The Kartakan church dogma recognizes Milil as having a deceased brother named Kakaphon of Discord, whom committed the sins of blasphemy, murder, and suicide, the three major transgressions of the Church of Milil in Kartakass.[6]

3rd Edition Ravenloft products do not mention Milil due to copyright restrictions on the license Wizards of the Coast gave to White Wolf. Instead, the Church of Milil has been replaced with the Cult of the Ancestral Choir.
