Serenity Merryweather

Serenity Merryweather was the daughter of Salome Merryweather-Smythe and Errol Merryweather, the sister of Dolor Merryweather and Bertrand Merryweather, and the unwed mother of Thérèse and Pierce. She was also the niece of Michael Smythe and the full cousin of Aleister Smythe.

Little is known of Serenity, other than that she gave birth to her twins out of wedlock, and shortly after died in an unnamed asylum "while screaming at the walls". Unknown to society at large, Serenity's pregnancy and the degradation of her sanity were both due to the fact that she had been raped by her own brother, Bertrand Merryweather. It is possible that her brother Dolor was aware of what had transpired, or that he at least held some affection for her, as he took Thérèse and Pierce with him when he departed the Core, rather than leave them in the care of Bernard or their mother Salome.
