Slap's Scrapbook

  • Slap's scrapbook is just that; a scrapbook she started keeping sometime after 747 BC. As a subscriber to Alienist Monthly, Slap sometimes comes across articles that she finds especially interesting. Rather than mutilate her collection of Alienist Monthly issues, the Fiend will purchase additional copies and cut the articles in question out of them, then paste them into her scrapbook. She will also include articles from other periodicals that catch her fancy, frequently choosing among the subjects of crime, politics, religion and history.
  • As innocuous a hobby as this might seem, Slap's scrapbook holds not inconsiderable dangers. As an immortal Fiend, Slap is capable of recognizing connections and patterns that others can not - even the well-intentioned Alienists who submitted articles to Alienist Monthly or agreed to an interview. Her personal notes and thoughts, jotted in the margins of the pages in the Abyssal language, contain analyses that suggest ways the work of the Alienist community could be turned against patients just as easily, not to mention 'helpful' notes to point out when this already seems to have been done. The book also contains reminiscences on events that the various articles have reminded Slap of, establishing blood-curdling connections.
  • As a casual hobby, and surprisingly with no ill intent aforethought, Slap has created a book whose contents could engender madness in an unprepared mind. Alternatively, it could serve as a "how to"-manual for anyone with an interest in gaslighting and otherwise breaking the minds of others. In closing, some of Slap's casual observations could help to successfully conclude the investigation into any number of hideous crimes - or draw the wrath of criminals who very much desire not to be caught.
  • The fact that Slap also uses her scrapbook to collect incidental pictures of and articles about the Chibiloft Crew only lends a note of the bizarre to a collage of the grotesque. It is probably as well that the Fiend keeps her scrapbook as a private entertainment and has not shared its contents with anyone else ... yet.
