Located in the city of Hughsrest, capitol city of Conquista, la Universidad de la Conquista is locally revered as the domain's oldest and largest house of learning. It is first mentioned in Quoth the Raven Issue 30, in the Conquista Gazetteer.
Education
Regrettably, the scholar Ciska reports that while la Universidad is a beautiful complex, it is not a true house of education. Students are required to engage in rote learning, with the ability to repeat lessons word for word held in much higher esteem than that to actually understand them. The ability to repeat lessons is even the basis for passing exams.
Departments
Sports: Although Ciska is dismissive of it, the Sports department is where la Universidad excels.
This is probably because it is the one Department where the students can truly invest their energy and creativity, excelling by their own efforts.
Resources
La Universidad boasts a library that contains all surviving texts written by the original Viejos Sagrados, and could be a wellspring of scientific knowledge. Unfortunately, the library is closed off to students and researchers alike, with only educators allowed to remove texts - and only those approved by the head of college and the resident chaplain of Taiia. (Ciska, having secured illicit entrance into the library, is highly complimentary of the books secured within.) Unknown to the teachers, the reborn Viejos Sagrados have also hidden some of their introductory texts in the library, where people might stumble upon them and either learn to harness their power or die.
Rivalry
Ever since the founding of rival university la Torre del Conocimiento Sagrado, la Universidad has consistently smeared its reputation, describing it as nothing more than a vocational school. It further hinders la Torre by blocking any attempts by educators from the rival college to access its library, and denouncing any of its discoveries by pointing out it already has books on the same subject. (Completely ignoring the fact that these books are left to gather dust, rather than being read.)
