The majority of the Arak belong to one of Nine Breeds that vary according to the personality and personal ethos of the individuals in question. Parents don't necessarily pass on their type to their children, but rather the fey child's nature brings about what breed it will manifest. An Arak's breed is largely associated with either the Seelie Court or Unseelie Court[1]
The Nine Breeds are as follows:
- Alven (Seelie Court)
- Brag (Neutral with respect to the Courts)
- Fir (Seelie Court Or Unseelie[2])
- Muryan (Unseelie Court)
- Portune (Seelie Court}
- Powrie (Unseelie Court)
- Shee (Seelie Court)
