Markovia is an island situated in the Sea of Sorrows and based on the H.G. Wells novel The Island of Doctor Moreau. The domain's sole inhabitants are Dr. Frantisek Markov and his unique broken ones (tormented humanoids created by the fleshcrafting of animals with Markov's perverse surgical methods). His obsession is the creation of humans from animals, a projected doomed to ultimate failure. Hs creations are inhuman looking and degenerate slowly back into mere mindless beasts.
In 748 BC, the Lamordian colony ws established on Markovia and vanished subsequently without a trace.
The wreck of the Sunset Empires lies in Sunset Bay.
Originally located where the Shadow Rift now lies, Markovia became an island in The Sea of Sorrows during The Grand Conjunction.
