High Alchemy is an advanced subfield of alchemy concerned not with the transmutation of metal but instead of the manipulation and healing of both spirit and flesh, which are both conceived of one essence in High Alchemy. At its most advanced form, High Alchemy becomes entailed not merely with the changing of life to its creation. With discrete and enlightened use, High Alchemy can produce true wonders, but it can bright doom and damnation if used foolishly or with ill intent.^[1]

Although the formulae of High Alchemy bear high complexity, they are divided into three levels or permutations of intricacy. In game mechanics terms, High Alchemy formulae are distributed in feat chains.^[2] The Natural Philosopher prestige class, the primary users of High Alchemy, receives High Alchemy related feats as bonus feats.

High Alchemy seems to have the strongest foothold in Paridon, its likely realm of origin. However, knowledge and practice of the tradition has spread outside of that domain.
