Oldar Wahldrun was a Darkonian peasant farmer and one of the first people an amnesiac Firan Zal'honan met in 579 BC when he first entered Darkon. Much to his trepidation, Oldar became involved in a complicated and precarious series of events beyond his underestanding. However, because of his service and loyalty to Azalin ultimately earned him life-long protection by the king of Darkon, despite Azalin's one-time betrayal.[1]Template:Declared noncanon-small This protection was extended to his family and descendants, including a descendant bearing the same name that was called upon by Azalin almost two centuries later.<ref>Lord of the Necropolis.

Oldar Wahldrun is a good man and a loyal subject of Azalin Rex 
who was responsible in significant part for his lord's restoration to the thone. 
Azalin betrays the life-long loyalty of his subject in a failed attempt to restore his son to life through soul transference. Azalin seems to regret the betrayal. Fortunately, Oldar survives and returns to his farm.
