Amourette Schlosser is the seventh oldest persona of the Tanar'ri Devoratrix known as the Red Haunt. This persona is first introduced in the Conferences of Victor Gagné V.

Appearance

Amourette Schlosser appears as a Mulan woman who has - contrary to Mulan custom - allowed her dark hair to grow long, with the exception of a shorn forehead that exposes her facial tattoos. She wears traditional Mulan clothing, sewed by her own hand. Amourette is frequently seen smoking opium cigarettes; a vice which does her no harm due to her fiendish immunity to poisons.

History

Amourette was 'born' on the heels of Lillian and Vinaash Schlosser, two personas whose genesis had required a great investment of personal energy on the fiend's part. As a result, Amourette was born out of the fiend's desire to relax and indulge itself for a time.

Amourette settled in Hazlan, which she considered to be an entertainingly corrupt country, and built her home there under the assumed identity of a minor noblewoman. Her estate soon became known as a place for libidinous excess among the ruling class, and it would be easy to dismiss Amourette as the least dangerous and most self-absorbed of the Red Haunt's personas.

Many deadly mistakes are easy to make.

While Amourette learned how to cook and sew and did indulge herself with any lovers who caught her eye, it also pleased her to study and expand her powers, to corrupt young students from Ramulai into becoming her private Cabal, to transform willing Rashemani into a small army of Goblyns and willing animals into Darkenbeasts. The delights of demons are not those of men; in her own way, Amourette is one of the Red Haunt's most dangerous personas, poised to throw Hazlan into civil war, and/or exert her influence on any number of schemes occurring around the Core through the army and the Cabal at her disposal.

Amourette's greatest contribution to date is her key contribution to the construction of the World Engine, in collaboration with Mu, Victor Mordenheim, and Diedrich von Hochstatt. It is known that she engaged in single combat with Adam during this series of events, though not whether she would have won or lost.

Personality

Flirtatious, fun-loving and sensual, Amourette has deceived most of Hazlan into believing her a dabbler in arcane magic and a sensualist with not a care for the world outside her estate. Those who see her capacity for ruthless action and pragmatism are usually too late to save themselves. People who fall for her seduction can be sorted into two categories: 1) Fodder for her parties, schemes and hunger; 2) Possible recruits to be turned to the purpose of the Centurions of the Night in one way or another.

Amourette may appear to be second-best to her 'sisters', but she is widely skilled and learned, and possesses a better head for battlefield tactics than any of them. Combined with her gift for recruitment, this makes her a more than decent commander and supporter of troops. To wit, Amourette rarely enters battle unless she has tilted the odds in her own favour, such as by moving troops into position to assist her and covering the battlefield in magical darkness.

A perhaps unusual quirk of her personality is that she does not forcefully create her Darkenbeasts and Goblyns, instead seducing and recruiting them, and does not use their telepathic bond to keep them as willess slaves. Rather, Amourette takes care of her troops, meeting their needs insofar as is reasonable in return for their obedience.
