Introduction

The city of Chantil was peaceful and prosperous once, years ago, before the violence started. Now, like all the other cities in Chelleaux, it lies in the thrall of Mademoiselle Guillotine, and the masses who serve her.

Geography

Chantil is north of Sarnis, and west of the halfling valleys. It is smaller than Sarnis, but with its own magnificent architecture that makes Chantil the vision it is.

Chantil's City Hall is classically designed, with most of the local executions happening in front of it. The stage with the guillotine on it is now a permanent fixture. Across the street from capitol building is Le Theatre de Chantil, with Chantil's library and museum and the houses of Chantil's wealthiest citizens filling out the rest of this most affluent part of town. The Inn of Chelleaux is on this street, as is L'Hotel de Grace. The main road in this part of town is the Avenue de Blanc, with the intersecting Avenue de Rouge leading through to the poorer side of town.
