Emil Toranescu

Emil Toranescu is an NPC from the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. He is a werewolf servant of Strahd that Strahd locked away as punishment for causing conflict within the werewolves of the Children of Mother Night. He is the husband of Zuleika Toranescu.

The Rift

The group is led by Kiril Stoyanovich, though Emil Toranescu created a rift in the pack by suggesting that the pack keep the children they kidnap alive and infecting them with lycanthropy to increase the pack's numbers. Kiril vehemently disagreed, believing the increased size represented too much of a responsibility and reliability, and Kiril ultimately settled the matter by appealing to Strahd. Emil was taken away to Castle Ravenloft and Kiril retained leadership, but the group still remains divided by Kiril's tactics.

==In Curse of Strahd If liberated by player characters, he follows them for a time but backstabs them when convenient unless they proclaim their alliance to Zuleika Toranescu. Under that circumstance, Emil merely abandons Castle Ravenloft when he sees the opportunity.

The Children of Mother Night represent the werewolves sent by Strahd into the Misty Forest of Faerun in the Werewolves in the Mists adventure hook. If Kiril is slain and Emil takes leadership, a negotiation can be made for the group to stop raiding Faerun.
