Redondorei is a Loa who is worshipped in the domains of Raba and Malopelagio in the Wartorn Cluster. He is acknowledged as a leading figure among the tribe of Spirits known as the Loa Estable, the pantheon of South-Raba.
Redondorei is a very popular Loa. He is a patron of farming and cookery, always full of good cheer and endlessly generous to those in need. He frequently travels outside Raba to discover new foods and new recipes, leaving control of his tribe to other Loa. His rituals often involve his Voodan sharing the best food they can afford with the faithful. In the mythology of Raba, he became a chieftain among his tribe not through feats of arms and strength, but by securing a stable food supply for mortals and preparing delicious meals for his fellow Loa, increasing their strength and health.
According to one particular legend, Redondorei prepared food and quarters for the Loa Mutasawil after they were driven from North-Raba, only for Ghazi Voyou to burn down the guesthouse he had built for the unhomed Spirits, steal some of the food and despoil the rest. While Redondorei only laughed about the crime and was ready to prepare new quarters and meals for the Loa Mutasuwil, his fellow Loa Estable forbade it, having taken offense on his behalf for the violation of sacred hospitality.
Appearance
Redondorei is depicted as a morbidly obese man, his legs stick-thin and withered, his head shaven bald. He is carried in a palanquin by four spirits whenever he needs to travel, but always looks cheerful and friendly, his clothes clean and well-cared for. He carries a huge supply of food with him in his palanquin, and is seen snacking all the time - but also hands out food to those he meets along his path.
