The Trished River roars down out of the Mountains of Misery of Darkon and into Nova Vaasa. The Vaughn Dnar River is joined by the Trished River east of Liara and bends to the southeast. It is joined by the Borchava River halfway between Liara and Kantora, and continues east by southeast, passing just north of Kantora, where it is joined by the Dnar River, becoming at that point the Sydligdnar ("South Dnar River"). The Sydligdnar drains into the Nocturnal Sea just north of Egertus beside the port of Guldstrand Beach via the Katsmund Canyon.

The Trished River is conceivable fordable when not swollen by meltwaters or heavy rain. Its incline is far too steep for navigation of any sort within Darkon. And it hardly enters Nova Vaasa before it merges into the Vaughn Dnar. Since the Great Upheaval in 740 BC, even as fey incursions have all but stopped, bandit attacks have become ever more frequent. Intrepid or despperate brigands, who would not have dared shelter in the Forgotten Hills when they were part of Arak, have learned that they may do so now with some hope of not being carried off in the night. In Nova Vaasa then the Trished River is not a consequential source of water for crops, humans, domestic animals, and wild animals, save for in its contribution to the Vaugh Dnar. To the extent that any heavily fortified farmsted stand on its banks, their farmland is lightly taxed by the Hiregaards. The Trished River belongs to the Borchava Duchy of the Hiregaard family.
