A century and a half later the heart of the mountains remained a blasted, rocky wasteland, devoid of trees. At lower elevations tenacious grasses, spike plants, and low shrubs have made some inroads. As for fauna mundane and monstrous, it consists chiefly of vast swarms of bats, spiders of all sizes, and ettercaps. When completed, the Strigos Road will pass within sight of Mount Nirka to its south west and skirt the western flank of Mount Nyid, reopening the prior road that was also destroyed by the storm. | |||

Gold, silver, and gems are mined and such mining is the primary activity. The dwarven settlement is Tempe Falls. The gnomish one is Mayvin.
