Markovia is an island situated in the Sea of Sorrows[1] and based on the H.G. Wells novel The Island of Doctor Moreau. The domain's sole inhabitants are Dr. Frantisek Markov and his unique broken ones (tormented humanoids created by the fleshcrafting of animals with Markov's perverse surgical methods). His obsession is the creation of humans from animals, a projected doomed to ultimate failure. Hs creations are inhuman looking and degenerate slowly back into mere mindless beasts.
In 748 BC, the Lamordian colony was established on Markovia and disappeared, leaving behind no evidence of its existence.[5][6]
The wreck of the Sunset Empires lies in Sunset Bay.
Originally located where the Shadow Rift now lies, Markovia became an island in The Sea of Sorrows during The Grand Conjunction.
Chronology
- 698 BC Frantisek Markov butchers his wife. Markovia forms as a domain within the mainland of the Core.[7]
- 740 BC - The Grand Conjunction. Markovia is ripped from its place in the Core, seemingly destroyed. In reality, it is now an island in the Sea of Sorrows.[8] However, with its transition, Markovia's climate climate and flora begin visibly changing from temperate to tropical.[9]
- 743 BC Having vanished from the mainland of the Core, Markovia is found once again in the Sea of Sorrows.[5][6]
- 748 BC - All Lamordian colonists on Markovia disappear, leaving behind no remnants of their existence.[5][6][10]
- 749 BC - Akanga's Rebellion: Akanga attempts a revolution against Frantisek Markov's rule of Markovia.[11]
