An execution is a state overtly taking the life of an individual judged guilty of crime against it or its citizens. An execution is punishment for breaking the law and often is public punishment at that and so a public event. In states such as Barovia or Falkovnia where the head of state is the law, executions are quite simply at his or her whim. Killings by assassination or lynching are not executions as states availing themselves of either do so covertly. Methods of execution are many, some quicker and less painful.
