Jonenmark is a prosperous land with abundant natural resources despite having significant settlement at its core. The people enjoy good health, humor, and home. The Duke of Jonenmark, a resident of Braunenburg[1] is a good man who makes mostly sensible laws, albeit ones that benefit those who pursue commerce the most.[2] The domain enjoy trade with the Sea of Sorrows, which the Sea of Jonenmark has frequent access to. The Sea of Jonenmark runs along the borders of the domain.[1]

Yet, despite their facade of confidence that people show, there is a not too deeply hidden atmosphere of anxiety. The animals of the land have turned vicious, and the Duke bears some kind of curse. Finally, a string of people have gone missing. The people suspect it's the work of some supernatural force and often blame foreigners or those who practice magic. The Church attributes it to divine wrath upon the Unfaithful. The truth is that these killings are the work of Karl Britter, the darklord of the domain.[1]

Jonenmark was created by Andrew Cermak.[3]
