First introduced in Quoth the Raven Issue 28 in the Chibiloft comics, the Levkarest Lycanthrope is an opponent of the Chibiloft Crew. It appears to be a Werewolf.

Background

Though nothing is explicitly stated about the creature's background, its epithet of Levkarest Lycanthrope suggests that it is native to Borca and has been particularly active in the environs of the city of Levkarest.

All that is known conclusively about the creature, is that the Chibiloft Crew either was contracted to deal with it, or else stumbled upon it sometime after 765 BC. Having found the 'Lycanthrope asleep in its lair in a cemetery near Levkarest, the 'Crew had the creature dead to rights, only for Dr. Julio Huevo to try an experimental 'cure' without restraining it first. By the time the Lycanthrope jolted awake, parts of its fur had already been shaved off with a mechanical contraption, which left it looking as though it had received a poodle haircut.

Furious over this outrage, the 'Lycanthrope chased Slice, Wick, Comoară and Julio around the graveyard, apparently with the intent to kill. As the 'Crew clearly survived the encounter and no mention has been made of their being infected with the dread disease, it appears to have been completely unsuccessful. Given that the Chibiloft Crew is reasonably powerful, one might assume from the fact that they fled from it instead of fighting that the Levkarest Lycanthrope is an overwhelmingly strong opponent.

Phenotype

Given that the Levkarest Lycanthrope was in its hybrid form while asleep, it might be a natural lycanthrope, but might also be a Wolfwere or something completely different.

Return

The Levkarest Lycanthrope returned to the comics two years after its first appearance. Near the end of Quoth the Raven Issue 30, it is revealed that the creature had hidden itself aboard the ship Dead Reckoning alongside Arcael, D'Vaal, the Toothless Nosferatu and Urtica. Presumably, it had been travelling in the 'oversized pet carrier' discovered in the ship's hold by Slap, right before the Lebendtod crewmen and vampires launched their attack. While its motivation was not revealed during the events in this volume of Quoth the Raven, the fact that its fur had completely failed to grow back -- leading to it being nicknamed 'Poodle' in the lineup of hostile characters -- suggests that it did so with the purpose of taking revenge on the Chibiloft Crew.
