Ustalav is a domain taken (or copied) from the word of Golarion, the world for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. It is described as a adaption to Ravenloft in Ustalav Gazetteer in QtR22. A more thorough description is given in the Pathfinder Campaign Setting sourcebook Rule of Fear.

Differences from Golarion's Ustalav
Ustalav on Golarion is a much larger nation than the domain of the same in the Land of Mists. Ustalav in Ravenloft is much smaller, small enough to cover the Shadow Rift but no further. While Golarion's Ustalav boasts thirteen regions, Ustalav in the Land of Mists has only 8. Moreover, in the Land of Mists, the religious upheaval caused by the death of Aroden (known as the Forgotten God in Ravenloft) resulted in an almost complete displacement of Ustalav's native religions by faiths from the Land of Mists (most notably the Church of the Lawgiver, but also the Eternal Order, Hala, and Ezra).[4] Cleric NPCs and other religious devotees may, unlike their Golarion counterparts, thereby belong to one of Ravenloft's faiths.
Although many events in Ravenloft Ustalav's history mirror those in Golarion Ustalav's history, the dates and exact details of Ravenloft Ustalav's history is often quite muddled and inconsistent.[5] This is due to the nature of the demiplane in general and the curse of Ustalav's darklord in specific. - 160 BC Approximate year for the founding of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye. Aldus Aldon Canter returns to [[Ustalav with wealth from far away lands that resemble the Amber Wastes.[8]
- 171 BC The year given in history for the founding of Lepidstadt.[8]
- 460 BC A curse transforms Castle Maiserene (from the county of Varno) into Bastardhall.[8]
- 469 BC Approximate year for the founding of the University of Lepidstadt.[9]
- 560 BC Last known sighting of the Black Coach.[9]
- 601 BC Ustalav forms as a domain within the Land of Mists.[9]
- 615 BC The Sincomakti School of Sciences was founded on the south shore of Lantern Lake in Versex.[10]
- 635 BC Mr. D. goes on a murder spreed in Caliphas.[9]
- 651 BC The Last Azlanti, god of Humanity, goes silent and henceforth becomes known as the Forgotten God.[10]
- 706 BC The Harrowstone Fire occurs.[10]
- 707 BC The Church of the Lawgiver takes over all the old places of worship of the Forgotten God.[10]
- 713 BC The Bloodless Revolution occurs. Vieland and Canterwall overthrow their local overlords and transform into the palatinates.[11]
- 719 BC Vlad Drakov attempts to invade Ustalav, but the Falkovnians are pushed back.[12]
- 720 BC Prince Aduard III ascends to the throne of Ustalav.[11]
- 730 BC Ailson Kindler allegedly plays a role in the demise of Viscount Galdyce of the Vale of Red Breath. The encounter is said to have left Kindler's fiancé Duristan Barlhein deceased.[11]
- 732 BC Enteric fever decimates one of every five denizens of Rozenport.[13]
- 733 BC Vlad Drakov attempts to invade Ustalav for the second time, but the Falkovnians are again pushed back.[14]
- 734 BC The War Without Rivals begins.[11]
- 738 BC The War Without Rivals ends.[11]
- 749 BC Ustalav is inundated with refugees fleeing Darkon in the wake of the Requiem. Many Darkonian scholars wind up in Lepidstadt. the University of Lepidstadt become a central hub in the Core for knowledge and education.[15]
